Wolf Bauer

A graduate of the “Staatlichen Akademie der Bildenden Künste” in his hometown of Stuttgart in Germany, Wolf Bauer’s fame began with accolades for his domestic freelance work. Recognized for the boldness he brought to an often tame industry, Bauer’s reputation continued to grow as his works were frequently and increasingly awarded and exhibited worldwide. Bauer produces also works in ceramic, glass and textile. Recently he has been rediscovered and was named as a pivotal figure in the history of Knoll Textiles and American manufacture. His designs won the New York Industrial Award for Design Excellence in 1970.
This work comes out of a special edition "Artist of the world” from Meissner Edition, Hamburg created for the German Lufthansa Airline in year 1985 and their first class passengers.
