ROLEX | Oyster Perpetual
Deepsea
Ref. 6332
1950s
For your collection of incredibly rare Rolex Oyster Perpetual, there is the reference 6332, with a black 3-6-9 Explorer gilt dial, signed "DEEPSEA".
It is believed that the model was produced as a tribute or extension of the original Deepsea prototype that set diving records in year 1953.
__
You are looking at the first Rolex model with "DEEPSEA" inscription on the dial, produced by Rolex in the mid-1950s, to celebrate the original Deep Sea Special N°1 prototype in 1953, that made the first dive to a depth of 3,150 meters in the Mediterranean on 30 September 1953.
Even though this Deepsea has nothing to do with diving per se, it is a fascinating piece of Rolex history that is rightly highly valued by the brand's most loyal connoisseurs. Many compare this rare piece to the Rolex prototype reference 6239 Cosmograph Yacht-Master - understandable, as the name of this model also later appeared on the dial of a modern Rolex.
Produced in year 1954 this timepiece has a unique unusual oyster case with polished lugs and flat sides. Only a handful of these early reference 6332 have a "DEEPSEA" signature on the dial and this example has it on a fantastic black 3-6-9 Explorer gilt dial - all this, in remarkably fine shape.
We deliver this beauty to you with a complete major overhaul in year 2023 - including a new Rolex leather strap, but with the original Rolex vintage buckle from its original 1950s era.
Exceptional Rolex "DEEPSEA" collector watch in almost unbelievable condition.
