OMEGA - Anonymus
Swiss Made
1930s
The origins of the Omega brand go back to Louis Brandt's Comptoir d'établissage, which he opened in La Chaux-de-Fonds in 1848 at the young age of just 23. He traveled throughout Europe with the watches to personally deliver them to the appropriate customers. These days, Omega is one of the best-known international watch brands. When the name Omega is mentioned, one person thinks of the moon landing, the next of James Bond and yet another of the Olympics. But no less than such popular themes, the Biel-based company has dedicated itself to the everyday suitability of its watches: Magnetic field protection, precision in time display and innovative materials are the focus. Incidentally, the name Omega comes from a 19-line pocket watch caliber that the manufacture introduced in 1894. It impresses with its simple but very reliable construction, as well as the interchangeability of all components. This movement was given the name Omega. In the spring of 1894, the company registered "Omega" as a trademark. In 1947, the brand name came to the fore in the company name and since 1982 the company is simply called "Omega SA".

The dial of this table clock, including the hands, were only designed for Omega in the 1920s and 1930s. This unique table clock is not signed Omega and does not have the usual Omega movement caliber 59-8D, but instead a state-of-the-art Swiss Made 8-day movement with alarm gong by means of a tone spring - manufactured on the highest level of Swiss craftsmanship.
The case of this clock is obviously a one-off of the highest quality and precision, but bears an individual number stamped on the back cover. This timepiece was used as it is, standing or lying, as a table clock and also as a travel watch.
In 2024, the movement was completely overhauled by one of our master watchmakers, who specializes in refined historical movements, and works superbly with all functions. We are referring here to an amplitude of around 300 deg / accuracy of approx. 18 sec/day.
Take a look at the 100-year-old exquisite silvered dial of this historic clock - quite an amazing sight!
For the fireplace, the bedside table or as an alarm capable reminder on your office desk to remind you when work is over - it doesn't matter, this clock looks good anywhere.
