Michael Wittmann
1959 Wien
The young Michael Wittmann who read comics in Vienna dreamed of imaginary worlds like so many others. In the meantime, he has been able to realize some of his dreams. In his drawings, he implements fantastic scenes from fantasy and science fiction novels; at the beginning of the 80s for the fantasy series MYTHOR, today for PERRY RHODAN. Michael Wittmann has been a comic fan since his earliest youth. "The American superheroes in particular impressed me as a child," he recalls today. "First the old Batman stories by Bob Kane, later Jack Kirby's Fantastic Four." Since 1999, Michael Wittmann has been working as an illustrator for the booklet series "PERRY RHODAN", the greatest science fiction epic in the world. For 14 years, Michael Wittmann illustrated 300 booklets of novels. In 2009 he was honored by Franz Joseph Huainigg for the "BEST CARTOON" in the "NOT IN THE DARK" competition.
The "PERRY RHODAN" figure in this limited edition was lined and then attached to the sheet in raised form. This creates a fascinating 3D effect. You will receive a Michael Wittmann artist's copy, signed & inscribed "E.A."
