Andreas Junge
1959 Wuppertal - 2009 Wuppertal
Andreas Junge studied at the Düsseldorf Art Academy from 1984 to 1992 / master student under A. R. Penck. In 1991 he received the "Von der Heydt-Förderpreis" of the city of Wuppertal.
"Andreas Junge opens his gaze to the diversity of the world. In hieroglyphics, the world is rendered with the thousands and thousands of stories it tells us. Often the world entwines itself like an ant's tangle around the symbols of the cross or around the grace of "Mercedes Stern" or takes shape in the form of bread (...) Here the individual becomes visible in the turmoil of the world, in his hopeless struggle against the mechanized superiority of constraints." Thomas Illmaier, WZ, 1992
